EDUCATING FOR EMPOWERMENT

Lifting communities through Christ-centered education

Amarisa Christian Academy is an educational institution that exists to transform communities through Christ-centered holistic education and unlock God's potential in children to become future leaders.

Changing Futures in Malawi, one student at a time

By establishing a school rooted in Christian values and a commitment to holistic education within the local community, Amarisa Christian Academy aims to empower students with essential life skills, independence, and confidence. This dedication to nurturing God’s potential in children from the ground up, as reflected in their mission, serves as their foundational approach to fostering future leaders and facilitating their positive integration into society. This community-centric model, driven by a strong faith in Christ, forms the bedrock of Amarisa Christian Academy’s efforts to make a lasting difference.

Ndaona Chauluka is the founder of Amarisa Christian Academy. Growing up in poverty in Malawi with a single mother, he experienced significant barriers to education himself, not starting school until age ten due to distance and safety concerns. This inspired him to establish a school in his community as a give back initiative. He named the academy after his daughter, Amarisa, believing it to be a “promised gift of the Lord”.

Our Founder

Ndaona Chauluka grew up in a family of nine children in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in Africa. After losing his father at a young age, he was raised by a single mother with no formal education, who worked tirelessly in the fields to support her children and instill in them the value of education. Although his siblings attended school, Ndaona was kept home until age 10 due to the long, dangerous journey to school through remote, wooded areas known for child abductions.

These early challenges inspired Ndaona to create a solution for his community. He envisioned building a local school to eliminate the risks and distance children face, while providing access to education within the safety and reach of their own neighborhood.
